BUT there's a catch. One of these things is not true. I mean, after all...it IS April Fool's day. Can you guess which one it is? :) And here we go...
- I have 9 brothers and 1 sister. And LOVE it. :)
- I have 7 children of my own. And LOVE them.
- I have a very very very patient husband.
- I graduated last May (2012) with my Bachelor's Degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of Houston. It was tough. It was worth it. My family rocks for helping to make it happen.
- I love reading and writing. A LOT.
- I can type 120 words per minute.
- I write for the Young Adult crowd because, well... they rock. There's no end to the fodder my children bring home, and of course I still daydream about what my childhood COULD have been like...if I'd been, you know, braver. :)
- I'm pretty brave, actually, and spent a lot of time in my youth getting bandaged up.
- In High School I ran Track and Cross Country, but scared away most boys by my ability to jump hurdles and throw 15 pound hunks of metal across the field. Yeah...did I mention I grew up in a family of boys?
- My husband was apparently attracted to girls who could throw hunks of metal across the field.
- I love chocolate, but not as much as I did when I was younger.
- I love to crochet.
- I never wear the same hairstyle for more than a year. That would be BOOOOOOOOORING.
- I love the color yellow. (cough...gag...cough...gag)
- I loooooooove the color blue.
- I love trying new things. As in...Every. Day.
- I'm so glad you've made it to the end of this list. YOU ROCK!! (hint: this is not the untrue one. I really am glad you made it this far)
HAPPY A TO Z BLOGGING!!!
I think the false statement was typing 120 words per minute. A lot of those I knew about you; the others were a fun surprise. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Shelli!! My kids are grateful that this statement is actually true. I can type 120 words per minute. I think that's a gift from above so that I can squeeze as much writing into the limited time I have with all my chillens. :) :) Yellow on the other hand is a color best left to the sun and flowers. Anything else is...eh. :)
DeleteWhat a great post - awesome way to start off the challenge. 10 siblings & 7 kids ... HOW? I have 2 & 1 on the way, and I don't know how I'm going to survive.

I have no idea which one isn't true. The crocheting?
ReplyDeleteHello, Karen--nice to meet you! Okay, so I cheated and read your About Me page (you wouldn't lie there, would you?). So I know you really do type 120 wpm (wow!), and you really do have 7 kids (I have 6, so I understand). Which is the lie? Mmmm... That you crochet? Sounds a bit girly for a tomboy. Is the "cough... gag... cough" after "I like the color yellow" a hint? Yeah, I'm going with that. You're not wearing yellow in your picture, and there's not a lot of yellow in your blog. That's my pick. You actually hate yellow.
ReplyDeleteHave a great A-to-Z! :D
Gold Medal for Colin! Gold...not yellow...that's an insult to the award. Hahahaha. You are correct...I dislike the color yellow as a general rule. I can respect those who love the cheeriness it exudes, but yellow and I have a bad history together. Probably a carry over from the 60's that my childhood couldn't seem to rid itself of. :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYellow? Looking forward to reading your posts...so great to meet new (to me) bloggers!
ReplyDeleteYup. Yellow...blah...it has its purposes, but yeah...they are few and far between. :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI'm going with the color yellow as well b/c of the cough gag comment afterward. Loved learning more about you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jamie! Yup. Not a fan of yellow. Blech. Sorry. What's funny is that I'm a pretty optimistic person, and that's usually a color associated with that demeanor. The color makes me look like a sick person though, so it has the opposite effect on me. :)
DeleteNice getting to *know* you as part of the A to Z! This was a fun list to kick off the challenge!
ReplyDelete7 kids?! You deserve a frikken gold medal!!!!
ReplyDeleteAll the best with the challenge
Yes! A GOLD MEDAL! Not yellow...gold. :) Thanks for stopping by!
